Why "We Will Follow "?

When we began to think and pray about moving to Haiti, we talked about starting a blog.  Our children really enjoy music, and they have loved the song "I Will Follow"  by Chris Tomlin for a while.  Before Zion Hope could even talk she would sing along when they were singing this song.  They asked if we could include the song with our blog because we are following God's leading by going to Haiti.  Definitely a request I could say "yes" to amidst a lot of "I don't knows" and "maybes".  As we prepare to move, this song still speaks to our hearts.  Here is the chorus.

Where you go, I'll go
Where you stay, I'll stay
When you move, I'll move
I will follow you
Who you love, I'll love
How you serve I'll serve
If this life I lose, I will follow you, I will follow you

A few more questions that people have asked are when we are moving and how our support is coming.  We have seen God move in amazing ways over the past two months.  We have been blessed by so many people who have supported us with prayer, words of encouragement and financially. Our support level continues to rise and we are amazed at His provision. Praise God with us!!  Our plan, Lord willing,  is to move to Minnesota somewhere around Valentines Day and then on to Haiti in early to mid March.

This past week we visited with many friends and family that are very precious to us.  One of our children always asks, "Is this the last time we will see them?".  The lasts are beginning to happen, and it is very difficult for each of us.  Will you pray for us as we have many tasks before us and also as we deal with the "lasts"?

Here we go!

We are diving in!  As we pack, say goodbyes, research insurance, and present the ministry we are joining there are many emotions.  It is hard to say goodbye.  We are so excited about our future, but we are also so close to many people here.  In some ways we have no idea what to expect.  We rest in the knowledge that God holds us in the palm of His hand.  Jeremiah 29:11 is a verse that has been special to us since our wedding day.  "For I know the plans I have for you declares the Lord, plans for welfare and not for evil, to give you a future and a hope."  He knows why He has called us to Haiti and to Children of the Promise.  His timing is perfect.  Will you pray for us as we prepare for this new chapter in our lives?  Pray for peace and joy to reign in our house.  Pray for safety as we travel.  Pray for us to deal with the many emotions that each of us experience each day.  Thank you!
